Heineken + COPA90

While Executive Producer at COPA90US I led a partnership with Heineken USA to develop, produce, and distribute several original content series. The partnership included co-branded content with Major League Soccer, the International Champions Cup tournament, and The Players’ Tribune.

The partnership kicked off with a supporter-led documentary about the launch of LAFC (Los Angeles Football Club), Major League Soccer’s 2018 expansion club. The film documented the home opener at the new LAFC arena, Banc of California Stadium, and highlighted the stadium’s one-of-kind supporter section and Heineken LAFC Supporter Bar. 

The series, “The Convert,” presented by Heineken and The Players Tribune, introduced non-soccer fans to the beautiful game. The first episode featured NBA player, Tim Hardaway Jr, attending a 2018 ICC match between Real Madrid and Roma. 

The six-part “Hometown” series, presented by Heineken, explored MLS supporter and city culture across North America, through the lens of MLS top tier players. The first episode featured Atlanta United striker, Josef Martinez.

The partnership also included a sponsorship of COPA90’s weekly hosted show Walk Talk Football around the 2018 MLS season preview and 2018 season’s Heineken Rivalry Week.
